George, a Senior Associate at our firm, is a graduate of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and a member of the Athens Bar Association since 1989. He joined our firm in 1995 and is qualified to represent clients in cases before all courts.
He is an active member of our firm’s Intellectual Property, Dispute Resolution, Corporate & Commercial and Consumer Rights & Product Liability practice groups. He is an experienced litigator and has litigated over 600 cases so far, involving a big number of various types of infringement of IP rights (anti-counterfeit cases, cases on “pirated” software, etc.) in both civil and criminal courts.
George has extensive experience in all matters pertaining to IP litigation, liaison with Customs and Police authorities and implementation of the anti-counterfeit customs intervention legislation. He has advised many multinational brands on combating counterfeiting activities and on implementation of the customs intervention legislation. Moreover, George has assisted as co-author on the preparation of the Greece report for Borderwatch, a global online information product for IP owners providing country-by-country analyses of legal issues and procedures for the protection of IP rights through Customs controls, has participated as lecturer in the training programme for Police & Customs officials in Estonia, sponsored by the EU. He has also contributed as co-author to the chapter on Greece in the World Trademark Review editions for several years as of 2008 on Anti-counterfeiting, Correspondent for Greece and member of the International Trademark Association work group for the adjustment and improvement of the EU and National legislation on IP Law (2009), as well as co-author of several international publications such as the International Copyright Law and the International Advertising Law, among others.
