As the Greek member of the Lexing network, Ballas Pelecanos Law provides analysis of key regulatory and judicial developments shaping the data protection landscape in Greece.

The Greece chapter, prepared by Senior & Managing Partner George Ballas and Associate Nikolaos Papadopoulos, examines the most significant decisions issued in 2025 by the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA), including:

  • A €200,000 fine imposed on a major bank for breaches of Articles 12(2) and 25(1) GDPR.
  • Sanctions related to delayed or incomplete responses to data subject access requests under Article 15 GDPR.
  • Decisions addressing data breach notification, security measures and CCTV compliance.

In all, the 2025 enforcement record reflects sustained regulatory focus on transparency, accountability and the effective protection of data subject rights.
