Andromache is a Certified Senior Paralegal, with over 24 years of experience in the management, administration and prosecution of trade marks, patents, utility models and industrial designs in Greece and abroad. She joined Ballas Pelecanos Law in December 2011 and is an integral member of our firm’s Intellectual Property practice group.
After studying computer sciences, she went on to obtain certifications on WIPO Advanced Courses related to trade marks, industrial designs, geographical indications and patents, as well as a Paralegal Certification in 2016. She is a member of the Greek Paralegal Association and a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA), and speaks English and French.
At Ballas Pelecanos Law, Andromache is involved in preparing and coordinating availability trade mark searches; filing of assignments, changes of name and address, filing and registering of trade marks, patents, utility models and designs, filing PCT applications; filing of EP applications at the EPO; filing and registering of European and international trade mark and design applications; managing clients’ IP portfolios and budgets; conducting researches for potential infringements of clients' IP rights, as well as coordinating with foreign counsel on international trade mark, patent and design filings.
Alexandra is an experienced IP paralegal with 15 years of relevant expertise. She joined our firm 5 years ago, after having honed her skills at one of Greece's long-standing Intellectual Property law boutiques, gaining considerable proficiency in a wide range of IP protection matters.
With an academic background in healthcare sciences and IT, Alexandra, who has Greek and English as her working languages, is a valued member of our IP Practice group. On her day-to-day work, she focuses on handling trade mark and patent prosecution matters, assisting our attorneys with the organisation and reporting of trade mark and patent searches, recordals and filings, the collection of evidentiary materials for court cases, as well as acting as a first point of contact for various client queries relating to IP matters.
Rena joined Ballas Pelecanos Law in 2004, following 13 years of administrative and commercial management support experience in the private sector. She is fluent in English. Before becoming a key member of our team, she held various roles in industries, including in Greek subsidiaries of multinational companies in sectors as diverse as construction, medical and education.
Rena is entrusted with overseeing the entire spectrum of the financial affairs of our firm. Her duties include, among others, supervising all payments, liaising with banks, suppliers, our associates, and members of staff, ensuring the smooth application of all our financial agreements, as well as producing budgeting reports and statistical analyses of financial data. Rena is also responsible for ensuring the overall smooth operation of our firm, including HR aspects, building maintenance, IT services, and equipment procurement.
Suzana joined our firm in 2001 after completing secretarial and accounting studies, and acquiring English language and IT skills. Prior to joining Ballas Pelecanos Law and becoming an essential part of our team, she gained valuable experience in various administrative and customer service roles in the public and private sectors.
Suzana offers assistance to our Intellectual Property practice group, dealing predominantly with trade mark matters, as well as general assistance to the firm in overseeing the smooth operation of all aspects of office life. In her current day-to-day work, Suzana provides secretarial support to our lawyers, serves as a first point of contact concerning client enquiries, organises most practical aspects of our working day and makes sure that everything is running according to plan.
Vasiliki joined our firm in 2022 as a Financial Assistant. She is fluent in English and holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) (Hons) in Business Management from Robert Gordon University, in Aberdeen, UK, as well as an Advanced Diploma (Hons) in Business Administration from Mohawk College, in Canada.
She has more than 10 years of relevant industry experience, both in Greece and Canada, as a finance and administrative assistant, account manager, buyer, and store and sales manager. At Ballas Pelecanos Law, Vasiliki offers assistance to the Financial Manager on a wide range of matters, and handles programmes for commercial, office, customer relationship and staff relationship management (CRM, ERP, etc.). She works closely with our firm’s accounting department, contributes in record keeping and payroll, and is also involved in various financial transactions, and liaises with our firm’s clients, suppliers and collaborating banks.
Dimitra joined our firm in 2022 as our PR and communications officer, overseeing all our firm’s internal and external communications, social media presence and overall interaction with our clients, the legal community, and the industries we serve. She speaks English fluently, has professional knowledge of Italian and a basic understanding of Spanish.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) (Hons) degree from Edinburgh University and a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice from Exeter University, in the United Kingdom. Following the completion of her studies, she became a teaching assistant at Edinburgh University and was later appointed as a full-time lecturer at Exeter University, lecturing in UK constitutional and administrative law, EU law and international public law.
Dimitra’s varied past also entailed, among other roles, being a competitive public speaking coach at the American College of Greece; a legal consultant in one of Greece's most well-known IP law boutiques, where she provided legal advisory services to a wide range of international clients; and a creative strategist at a premium Athens branding and design agency.
