Ballas Pelecanos Law participated as a Bronze Sponsor in the Defence for Growth Forum 2025, which brought together representatives from government, the defence industry, technology companies, investors and academia to discuss how innovation and cooperation can enhance Greece’s and Europe’s defence capabilities.
Senior Partner, Gregory Pelecanos, spoke in Panel III: R&D, Intellectual Property Rights and Technology Transfer Agreements in Defence Transactions, moderated by Antonis Papagiannidis, alongside Georgios Katiniotis, CEO of Acromove Inc.
In his presentation, he underlined that innovation, intellectual property and technology transfer agreements in the defence sector are strategic levers for strengthening national independence, increasing productivity and enabling growth for both defence and civilian companies. These mechanisms, he noted, have multiplier effects that extend across the economy and support long-term technological and industrial development.
He also emphasised that defence procurement, when combined with structured R&D and sound IP policy, can lay the foundation for technological sovereignty and sustainable growth, aligning innovation policy with national strategy.
