Gregory Pelecanos, Senior Partner at Ballas Pelecanos Law, participated in the 2nd International Conference on Dialogues in Competition Law and Economics, held on 10 September 2025 at the Eugenides Foundation in Athens.
In his intervention, Gregory revisited themes from his article “Product Prices and Competition Law”, arguing that Greek competition law remains ill-suited to the country’s market structure. He also addressed broader questions on the role of competition law and policy, including whether the discipline can ever be apolitical, the implications of economic concentration, and the different approaches available to address it.
The conference was co-organised by the University of Piraeus, Queen Mary University of London, and University College London, under the auspices of the Hellenic Competition Commission. Keynote speakers included Judge I. Sharpe, President of the HCC, and Lord (Baron) Bellamy KC of Monckton Chambers.
