Due to the deterioration of the epidemiological numbers in Greece the Government has announced new restrictive measures which apply as of Saturday, 30th of January and will be in force until at least the 8th of February in most of regions of Greece. Specifically the region of Attica has been added to the “Red Zone” (high-risk level), where the below new restrictions apply:
1) Click inside for the clothing, footwear and bookstores
Clothing and footwear stores, as well as bookstores will be operating with the system of click inside. Customers will have to book an appointment through phone or online and then will be able to visit the store and try the products they would like to buy. Apart from that, another advantage of the click inside method is that customers are able to pay in cash (maximum 500,00 €), while in the click away method the purchases are only made by card or prior bank transfer. Of course there are restrictions on the number of people inside the store depending on the size of the store (4 people/100 square meters), as well as a time restriction of 2 hours to complete the purchase.
Stores operating under click inside will still be considered as severely affected by the pandemic with the respective State aid still applying for February.
2) Click away for the rest of the stores
The rest of the stores will operate under the click away regime, in which is customers will have to pre-order the item they would like to purchase and receive it outside of the store (without entering) ,while they have already prepaid it through bank transfer, or paying it outside of the store by POS.
3) Suspension of employment contracts and State aid for February 2021.
The measure of suspension of employment contracts for the severely affected businesses is extended for February as well, according to the last list of Activity Code Numbers (ΚΑΔ) being still in force, while the employees under suspension are entitled to the State aid of €534,00 for a period of 28 days.
The suspension of employees' employment contracts has to be announced at the ERGANI system at least the day before the start of the suspension. However, especially for employment contracts that are suspended from the 1st to the 5th of February 2021, for the convenience of companies, the pre-announcement declarations of the employers are submitted within the first five days of February.
